at Metropolitan Opera

Price from £ 115

Don Carlo by composer Giuseppe Verdi is set in France and Spain during the Renaissance. France and Spain are at war. Don Carlo, son of the King of Spain, is in France, where he by chance meets Elisabeth, his betrothed and whom he has never met.

They instantly fall in love without knowing each other's true identities. But suddenly Elisabeth is ordered to marry Don Carlo's father, King
Phillip, as part of a peace treaty between Spain and France.

Yonghoon Lee sings the title role, with Barbara Frittoli, Ekaterina Gubanova, Simon Keenlyside, James Morris, and Ferruccio Furlanetto, reprising his definitive portrayal of King Philip.

Don Carlo is sung in Italian with Met titles in English, German, Italian and Spanish.
